ABOUT ME

I'm an exhibits writer and editor at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. That means I write and edit the interpretive text—the words on the wall and next to objects—in museum exhibitions. I work with curators and exhibition developers to shape an exhibition from the ground up, an exciting (and intense!) process. I've worked on exhibitions about narwhals, dinosaurs, wilderness areas, infectious diseases, and botany.

I've also written many feature articles and blog posts about education, science and research, and museums for various organizations and publications over the past 15 years. Find some examples under the "Writing" tab.

When I have time, I dabble in creative nonfiction—which I find challenging but fulfilling.

I live in the Washington, D.C., metro area with my husband and two young sons. I like visiting museums (of course!), running, hiking, and thrifting.
